Areas of Focus
Dr. Hart is a licensed psychologist who earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon in 2003.
Her therapeutic approach begins with an appreciation for the individual or family’s unique situation, culture and circumstances. She feels that creating a positive, healing, therapeutic relationship is essential in assisting clients to reach their desired goals. Although she tends to be directive in her approach, she adapts her strength-focused style to best meet the needs and goals of each client.
Dr. Hart enjoys working with children, families, and adult clients. Typical areas of focus have included child abuse/trauma, acting-out behaviors, non-compliance, inattention, hyperactivity, parenting, depression, anxiety, development and lifespan issues, and a wide variety of relationship difficulties.
Dr. Hart’s work history includes conducting individual, group, and family psychotherapy as well as mental health assessments. She has provided comprehensive psychological testing, primarily on children and adolescents, as well as more narrowly focused assessments. She has extensive experience in a variety of community mental health and other non-profit agencies serving people of all ages.
