I have a passion for working with teens and their parents. But I also really enjoy couples with communication issues and individuals dealing with depression/anxiety, grief and loss.
What degrees and licenses do you hold?
I have a Masters degree from the Couples and Family Therapy program at the University of Oregon’s Counseling Psychology program in the College of Education. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
What is your favorite color?
Yellow, though you will never catch me wearing it 🙂
What do you like best about living in Eugene?
Eugene is a great city. I love the walkability, parks, the up and coming food scene, and the people.
Do you believe in ghosts?
Only during the Halloween season.
What theory of therapy do you believe in the most?
Systems theory. I believe our interactions with others, our thoughts and feelings all contribute to how we experience the world and influence how we can change. And I am solution focused. I hold hope for my clients and believe in their unique abilities and strengths.
Do you have any pets?
Nope. But I have considered chickens.
What do you do in your spare time?
I like to run, garden, cook and eat chocolate — not necessarily in that order.
What is the best therapist joke you’ve ever heard?
I have not heard any. After an extensive google search, I could not find one that I like but… Did you hear the one about the therapist that couldn’t Google a therapist joke?
Why are you a therapist?
I am a people person. I enjoy being able to share experiences with others. I believe that change is always possible and it is a privilege to be a part of the change process with my clients.
