Signs One Has High Emotional Intelligence
EQ primarily includes the skills of self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, social skills, and handling relationships well with others. High EQ individuals are aware of their own emotions and those of others, enabling them to control their emotions to regulate them for positive social outcomes better. They can manage relationships with other people by empathizing with their feelings and, on occasion, stepping into their shoes.
Some signs that one might have very high EQ include:
- being aware of your feelings
- openly expressing your feelings
- managing stress well
- understanding other people’s emotions well,
- being open about what you think or feel.
If you notice these traits in yourself or someone else, it can indicate that they have a lot of empathy and awareness about how others feel.

The first thing we need to do is identify the feelings we’re experiencing. This might seem like a simple idea. By taking stock of your own emotions, you can better empathize with others and take into account what they are thinking and feeling.
