It can be hard to mentally gauge ourselves. To look inward and see if we need or would benefit from therapy. However, If you experience any of the listed feelings, in a way that interferes with your day-to-day life, it may be time to seek therapy.

You Feel Overwhelmed

Many people feel overwhelmed at some point in their lives. It is a natural reaction to stress, but it can also be a symptom of depression or other mental health issues. You should seek therapy if you feel constantly overwhelmed. You feel as though you need to take a break and step back but you cannot because your work never ends.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, there are many things that you can do to help alleviate the symptoms. Take care of yourself by eating well, exercising, and getting enough sleep each night. If your work is overwhelming, make sure that your employer knows this so they can help reduce the workload or find someone else to share the workload with.

You Feel Tired

Sometimes our busy lives can leave us feeling more tired than usual. However, you might feel like your fatigue is more severe than that. You could be feeling fatigued that is so intense that you have a difficult time getting up in the morning, or you oversleep to the point of missing work or school.

If you are tired all the time, it may be a sign of depression. Depression is a mental illness that causes feelings of sadness and loss of interest in activities you used to enjoy. You may need to seek therapy if you are always tired, can’t get out of bed, or have severe fatigue doing simple tasks. After ruling out any physical reasons with your doctor, therapy could be a good option to consider.

You Feel Hopeless

It is important to remember that feelings of hopelessness are a symptom of a bigger problem. Everyone feels down from time to time, but hopelessness and feeling like there is no point in anything can be a sign of depression.

Feeling a loss of motivation can be a common thing in our lives. But you may be feeling a constant feeling of hopelessness, or like you are unable to accomplish anything in life. This can be a sign you may want to try therapy.

You Feel Anxious

Getting nervous is a common emotion many of us feel from time to time. If you are feeling constantly anxious, or that your worries are keeping you from sleeping or taking up a large portion of your day, it may be time to talk to someone.
